Property taxes assessed after sale sometime in 2018 and notification mailed on 11/17/18... to that address.... mail forwarding only lasted 6 months, current owner must have just thrown away the letter.
Lien pulled on 4/19/19 for back owed taxes.
I just received a notification from the tax collectors on 9/22/19..... what the fuck?
So I called the tax collectors to pay the $107... nothing horrible. They can't take payment over the phone or online... because it's only the 21st century? Of course I can always pay in person...
Also, once the check I need to mail in clears (I haven't seen my checkbook in like a decade... maybe it's under the sofa cushions?), I have to contact them to remove the lien.... this isn't like some automatic process.
Oh, and the Tax Collector for LA County is in the process of setting up a system to accept online and credit card payments, thank goodness.... ETA 2021.
But on a more positive note, I went whale watching with my wife last night from 2500 feet in the air. That was kinda cool... but we couldn't find any whales... She's been seeing whales like every day this week while flying with her students..
Had a nice dinner in Half Moon Bay, it's just a short walk from the airport. Really pretty place!
