It's gonna be warm up here this weekend. I just got a bunch of stuff for the Sprinter that I'm going to continue the upfit for.
Speaker adapters for the front speakers (OEM is like 4.5".... these will accommodate 6.5")
Foam insulation to make window covers. I made the template for the 2 large cargo windows, next I'll need to make some templates for the driver/pass windows and the front windshield.
Last night I cut the insulation for the driver window, then used an iron over the corner of the dining room table to score lines into the insulation. This left fold marks, so now the whole thing folds up into a little accordion shape for storage. I've got a 1/2" punch that I can use to cut just the top surface and embed some neodymium magnets.... and presto... all the mechanical fab is done. I think I'll use some double stick tape to keep the magnet in the little pocket, but it's a good kind of press fit, so they shouldn't come out too easily.
After that I'll toss a layer of fabric on the inside with some edging around the whole thing and stitch it all up.
Short week for me... leaving for Olympia, WA on Wednesday night to go ride Fri/Sat... then a quick hop over to Seattle... home around the 4th. Should be fun!
I "get" to laptop shop today. Windows started posting harddrive failure notices on the wife's laptop with an absolutely huge warning which she dutifully ignored until I happen to see it pop up. Long story short, her harddrive is eating itself. Always fun. Maybe I'll replace mine at the same time given then screen is held on by a thread. Downside, new laptops come with Windows 10.
Ordered a 17" Asus, Intel i7, NVidia 1050, 16GB DDR4, and a 256 GB SSD with a 1 TB standard second drive. Almost went with the 15" 4K monitor, but the extra screen space is worth it even at only HD. Should handle Photoshop just fine. It's actually more powerful than the desktop she's using right now (except she's got 24 GB of RAM, and about 8 TB of standard drive storage). Shit, if it weren't for Ed being awesome it would be more powerful than my desktop too.
