Round 5 - Sunday 5/21/17

Now back on the mainland of Europe, the championship is heading to France for the Monster Energy

Track Map
Image

Last year's Podium:
Image

This year, Johann Zarco has been very impressive on the Tech 3 team, and he is French. I'm expecting him to upset some of the established riders with over aggressive passing and risky maneuvers for his home race. :D Would be awesome to see a satellite bike on the podium.

Points as they stand:
1 Valentino ROSSI Yamaha ITA 62
2 Maverick VIÑALES Yamaha SPA 60
3 Marc MARQUEZ Honda SPA 58
4 Dani PEDROSA Honda SPA 52
5 Andrea DOVIZIOSO Ducati ITA 41
6 Johann ZARCO Yamaha FRA 35
7 Cal CRUTCHLOW Honda GBR 29
8 Jonas FOLGER Yamaha GER 29
9 Jorge LORENZO Ducati SPA 28
10 Danilo PETRUCCI Ducati ITA 26
11 Scott REDDING Ducati GBR 26
12 Jack MILLER Honda AUS 21
13 Aleix ESPARGARO Aprilia SPA 17
14 Alvaro BAUTISTA Ducati SPA 14
15 Loris BAZ Ducati FRA 12

my podium prediction is
Vinales
Rossi
Zarco.

also- weather for FP1 looks like crap, so teams may be trying hard to put in a good time in case the following practices are wet or scrapped and make their way to Q2 on early practice times.
Yamaha had a dry day of testing there, along with Cal Crutchlow, prior to the season started, but factory honda, suzuki, and ducati have no dry practice time on the current bikes. the tarmac was also resurfaced between this year and last.

got to respect Rossi's desire to win though. he could have cruised in to second and kept the points lead but he doesnt give a fuck, he wants that win.

the action in the last third of that race was intense. pumped for Zarco to get a podium at his home round. hopefully he can build off that. he is just so close to consistent podiums...

how about pedrosa though? if any of you watched qualifying, it was almost pedrosa who went into q2 instead of Dovi and with the ride he put in (plus using crutchlow as a berm) he could have been on the box too. maybe its pedrosa's year?

Uh, he still would have been 3 points down to Vinales had he finished 2rd. Just sayin........ I was hoping after his little mistake while leading, that he would just settle for second......Nope

Given the right equipment and the right mentality, Crutchlow can win championships....He is that good!
